For Chinese people, temple fairs are an unmissable activity over the Spring Festival holiday. With less than a month left, the arrangements are already well-underway.

Temple fairs in Longtanhu Park and the Temple of Earth will open to the public from January 22nd - the eve of the Chinese lunar New Year. As the two largest temple fairs in Beijing, they will showcase rich, tasty snacks and folk handicrafts. More than 800 folk performances - among them the yangge traditional dance of Northeast China and Shandong stilt-walking.

The temple fairs will last till February 9th, with an entrance fee no higher than ten yuan.

Buying flowers is another "must-do" during the Spring Festival. Though there are still a month to go, many Beijing citizens are flocking to markets for their favorite flowers. To meet demand over the season, florists have prepared more than 150 kinds of flowers for Beijing's markets.
