SEOUL, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- Price for goods and services among South Korean suppliers fell for the second consecutive month due to lower prices for industrial products, central bank data showed Tuesday.
The producer price index (PPI) declined 0.2 percent in September from a month earlier after slipping 0.2 percent in the previous month, according to the Bank of Korea (BOK).
Producer prices for industrial products, including oil products, retreated 0.7 percent in September on a monthly basis, continuing to slide for the second straight month.
Prices for coal and oil products dropped 6.3 percent, with those for chemical and metal products dipping 1.2 percent and 0.4 percent each.
Prices for agricultural, livestock and fishery products among suppliers advanced 5.3 percent last month, equaling the growth in the previous month.
Producer prices for electricity, natural gas and tap water gained 0.9 percent in September compared with the previous month.
Services prices decreased 0.2 percent in the cited month as lower costs for the eatery and lodging, the transport, and the finance and insurance service offset higher costs for the real estate and the business support service. Enditem
