The Chinese economy now shows moderate and stable growth, but the number of rich people keeps growing. According to the latest Forbes' list of world's billionaires, the Chinese mainland now has 251 billionaires.
There were also a great number of fabulously wealthy people in ancient China. Read on to learn about 20 of them.
Fan Li
Fan Li, or Tao Zhu Gong, 536-448 B.C., was an ancient Chinese advisor in the state of Yue in the Spring and Autumn Period (770-476 B.C.). After helping King Goujian of Yue defeat the state of Wu, Fan became a successful businessman and grew extremely rich. He was hailed as the god of wealth by the public.
